Husband of the Year Award........

.........goes to my sweet honeybunch! I got an early birthday present yesterday. I knew we were going out,but to where??? We got in the car around 4:30 and he told me we were going to dinner and a concert...my most favorite artist of all time. Neil Diamond!! Much to his dismay, I wasn't too excited. Good grief, Neil Diamond must be 70 something by now so I really wondered what kind of concert it would be. Well, first came dinner. For those of you that know Atlanta, we drove through our wonderful traffic to Norcross to eat at Pappadeux's. New Orleans style food. Rodg had to have his dozen raw oysters, of course, me...a dinner salad. We both had the same entree: Blackened Mahi Mahi smothered in monterey jack sherry sauce with mushrooms, crawfish, shrimp and spinach. (That was for you Nate!) Accompanied by dirty rice. OH MY GOODNESS! It was a plate of heaven! Wish I'd taken a picture of it........(for you Jess) on to the concert.......

We arrived a bit early, rushed through the parking lot in the rain. Rodg practically dragged me which is saying something with recent events! Found our seats and spent the next 45 minutes people watching. What an interesting crowd. I was beginning to think we were the youngest ones there. A few younger sat around us, which I was grateful for, but honestly this crowd was the geriatric one!! Right down to the walkers! And we didn't think it was going to be sold out with all the empty seats. With the late start, we decided it was to allow all those slow moving people time to get in their seats...and surprisingly, it was packed! Well, I've never seen Neil in concert after all these years and I've got to say once again...OH MY GOODNESS!! It was all I had ever hoped for and more. He sang all those oldies to ME and I LOVED it! Swaying in my seat for the longest time and finally couldn't stand it anymore with "Sweet Caroline", I was on my feet. Along with all those thousands of other retirees! I had to laugh out loud to see those oldsters dancing around their seats! And I was one of them!!! My favorite was "I Am, I Said" along with his encore of "They're Comin' to America". We really had a great time and all I can say is....Thank you dear, you're the BEST!

Glad that you had a great birthday adventure. You are really not that old, even though the numbers might not say so. You are so cute and so young looking.

I LOVE Neil Diamond and when I heard he was coming I wanted to get tickets but then forgot all about it. It sounds like a great concert. Did he sing "Forever in Blue Jeans". Glad you had fun.
